We’re pretty proud of designer Nick Howland. And he just keeps giving us more reasons to be proud.
Nick works at Springboard Creative part time while completing his graphic design degree at the Kansas City Art Institute. And to quote AAF-KC president Kyle Rohde: “That boy is friggin’ talented.”
His Spider-man Rebranding project has been selected for inclusion in the book “Creative Anarchy,” published by HOW magazine. The book explores when to follow rules and when to break them. It’s about throwing design caution to the wind with tips, trends, designer stories and creative exercises. The book comes out in late 2014.
Also, after winning three awards at the local AAF-KC American Advertising Awards, two of his pieces went on to win Silver awards at the AAF District 9 American Advertising Awards.
Then he was selected as one of the AAF-KC Foundation scholarship winners. Besides a $2,000 scholarship, he’ll be paired with a mentor, as well as several other nice benefits.
And lastly, he has been selected as an intern for Salesforce. He’ll spend his summer in San Francisco before returning to Springboard in August. In order to take the Saleforce internship, he had turn down several other internship offers including Twitter. Yes. Twitter.
Congratulations, Nick. We’re very proud of you. And it seems we may need to consider creating a news page just for you.
