NEW EXHIBITION BY BRENDAN O'SHAUGHNESSY
Among the hats Brendan O’Shaughnessy wears, two of them are artist and curator. These traits were on display in O’Shaughnessy’s recent exhibition titled Hopeless.
The two-part First Friday exhibition began July 6 and lasts until the end of August; hosted by the Beggars Table gallery at 2010 Baltimore Avenue. In addition to displaying original artwork, primarily intaglio prints including the infamous mezzotint process, O’Shaughnessy also curated works that fit the theme of the exhibit. He pulled in artists that reinforced the overall message, including Judah C. Wenger, Nathan Prior and Jordan Johnson.
The exhibition focused on finding hope in hopelessness and was supported by the evolution of works of art that changed for the second part of the show, culminating with a live performance by Judah C. Wenger. Altogether there was intaglio printmaking, fiber, sculpture, performance, video, music and painting on display. To view this project in full, click here.
